Our Project Green for Impact Brazil now enters the second and last phase of contribution. We will use IAAB’s “Force for Good” online platform launched last year in partnership with Incentiv, a taxtech startup that connects the tax incentive ecosystem with NGOs and donors, providing more convenience, engagement and transparency. It is essential that all donations are made through the Incentiv platform, as this is the only way to track our community’s contribution.

Within the same INSEAD principles and values of the first phase, the second phase fundraises for three projects, prioritizing alumni-led NGOs and tax incentivized projects. All three initiatives also bring relevant national coverage and diverse objectives for impact.

Our selected initiatives are:

1. Plan International Covid-19 Response, led by Cynthia Betti, INSEAD Alumni PGA’14, has as one of its initiatives to help girls from around the country to become leaders in their community, heading the combat against the Covid-19. Know more here.

2. #VencendoJuntos, led by Flavio Canto INSEAD Alumni PGA’18 and supported by other 8 renowned athletes, aims at assisting 33k low-income families across the country in 3 months with basic-needs grocery packages. Know more here.

3. IOS: Founded in 1998, IOS (Instituto da Oportunidade Social) for low-income teenagers was pushed to invest in the qualification of its instructors for the new distance learning environment, due to Covid-19. Donations to this project are tax-deductible for individuals and corporations. Know more here.

The 2nd phase will last for three months, we start today and will raise funds until August 11th

Our goal is to reach at least R$ 50k for each initiative.

We kick off with 6K donations from PayU and OnDoctor our first institutional donors. INSEAD Alumni Association Brazil (IAAB) will match with 10% up to 13K. So let’s make it happen!

This will get us to a total of R$ 150.000 or more!

Today, May 5, 2020, is a global day of giving and unity, set to take place as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world. The initiative is called #GivingTuesdayNow, led by GivingTuesday, the groundbreaking global generosity movement, know more here.

RESULTS (THANK YOU!): Green for Impact Brazil – Phase 1 – Fundo Volta por Cima

Dear Alumni and donors,

As you followed last week, our Project Green for Impact phase 1 finished successfully. We achieved our goal of raising R$ 50k with our alumni network support. The amount raised was R$ 52.605. On top of that, we also received R$ 5k by PayU, our institutional donor, and a donation match of R$ 5k by INSEAD Alumni Association Brazil (IAAB).

This got us to a total of 

R$ 62.605 !!!

CALL for ACTION: Green for Impact Brazil
Launch Fundraise Phase 1 – Fundo Volta por Cima

As you have been following our weekly updates in our engagement with Project Green for Impact, we are here now to launch our fundraising phase 1, with a special initiative that strongly connects with our vision of INSEAD and Business as a Force for Good.
Given the high number of projects aimed on the supply of medical appliances, we decided to focus on where we have more value to add. Thus, over the last two weeks, our group of volunteers actively sought initiatives that meet the following expected criteria: (i) high relevance; (ii) coordinated by credible partners; and (iii) our contribution (financial and other actions) would have a material impact.

In this context, we selected the “Turnaround Fund for Businesses in Low-income Communities” partnering with Pérola Bank and Agência Articuladora de Negócios de Impacto da Periferia (“ANIP”). ANIP is an entity formed by Artemisia, A Banca and FGVCenn and acts as an articulator to support social impact business in low-income communities.

O Project GreenCross foi iniciado por um alumnus MBA19D em resposta à irrupção do COVID-19 na China e hoje está se expandindo através da liderança de outros alumni, em diversos países, tais como Itália, Espanha, França, Brasil e Índia. Em seu modelo original, a iniciativa busca arrecadar fundos para compra de suprimentos hospitalares; no Brasil, buscamos analisar a viabilidade de modelo similar, e por isso, estamos em contato com o grupo global do Project GreenCross.

Nesta primeira fase, adicionalmente à compra de suprimentos que está sendo estudada, decidimos engajar imediatamente a nossa rede alumni, pelos nossos diversos canais de comunicação, para apoiar iniciativas já estabelecidas e fomentar nossa colaboração e atuação, em especial, nos projetos de nossos alumni.

Este engajamento começou na semana passada quando fizemos uma chamada de voluntários para compor esta força-tarefa e formamos um time central de 8 voluntários que vem se reunindo diariamente para buscar a melhor maneira de sermos atuantes nesta crise.

Dear fellow alumni,

Following the most recent development related to COVID-19 we have taken steps to cancel our March to May events. We hope we will be able to resume our activities in a very near future and will keep you updated as soon as possible.

Our alumni community has been very active. It was inspiring to see – right at the outbreak – the reaction of MBA’19 alumni who set up the Wuhan Relief Initiative to collect medical supplies and help those in need in China. The initial project has been renamed ‘Project GreenCross’ and is targeting other geographies where the COVID-19 has been expanding and we are already in connection with them and evaluating the feasibility to create a local team in Brazil. If you have the capacity to join the Brazilian team of volunteers, please answer this form. The team has created a closed Facebook group for the INSEAD community. Simply search ‘Project GreenCross’ on Facebook  or click here and ask to join the group. We encourage you to join and support the initiative.
