Time and again, the production of wine caused a faulty bubble formation. When it got particularly cold in winter, the fermentation process stopped and started again in the spring for a second time. As a result, the wine did not clear and also pricked. Carbon dioxide had formed. But the sparkling evil soon turned into a prestige drink – champaign. It soon travelled to all emperor’s courts and reached exorbitant prices all over the world.
To get an idea of the World of Champaign join us at H’UGO’s Winebar at Promenadeplatz. Moët Hennessy Deutschland invites us to a journey of champaign. Stephan Haumesser, Director Corporate & Private Sales, Moët Hennessy will talk to us about the history, specialities and character of champaign and LVMH’s houses of champaign Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot and Ruinart.
