Awards

The INSEAD Directors Network (IDN) is an official Global Alumni Club, whose mission is to foster excellent corporate governance through networking, communication and self-improvement.

The Board of IDN believe it is important to highlight Leading Practices in Governance and to profile and promote those in our network that are examples of best practice in Governance around the world. By understanding the activities of leading practitioners, network members can understand and learn how good practice and career progression in Governance can be aligned.

To support this aim, the IDN Board started the
IDN Annual Governance Awards in 2020.

Our more than 1500 Alumni work on boards around the world, sharing knowledge and managing businesses across all industrial sectors. They also provide invaluable support for Not-for-Profit organisations. We want to celebrate this success and recognise leading practitioners by highlighting some of the most prestigious mandates that have been given to IDN Member.

The Board have formed an Awards Sub-Committee under the Chairmanship of our Vice President, Dominic Nixon.
The committee consider the work of our members through mandates they disclose to the network as well as recommendations and nominations made to us by other IDN, members of the INSEAD Alumni Association community and by the INSEAD faculties.

We currently have three award categories ;

  • Outstanding Mandate with a Non For Profit Entity
  • Outstanding Mandate with a Commercial Enterprise
  • The IDN Good Governance Award

The Awards Committee’s selections are influenced on the size and and importance of the organisations members represented, their global relationships and their position on the board. The pursuit of INSEADs mission ‘Force for Good’ is also considered.

The past winners selected, all have an outstanding track record, have demonstrated evidence of their impact on their organisation and have demonstrated the highest levels of integrity.
In each case, a winner will have a sponsor from a network member who is not a member of the IDN Board. IDN Board Members are not eligible for the award.

The names of past winners are included in the following announcements:

Our 2022 awards ceremony will take place in October 2022 at the IDN AGM.
Candidate consideration takes place from July to September 2002.

If you would like to be considered for any of our awards or would like to sponsor any fellow network member, please contact Dominic Nixon via our contact form.
