“The Disaster Artist” is inspired by Wiseau’s 2003 film “The room”, regarded as one of the worst movies ever made, and proof that success can be crafted from failure. It’s based on Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell’s 2013 book which examines the making of Wiseau’s vanity project, a tale of love, friendship, and rejection. Had it been made for a few thousand dollars, you can understand if it suffered from a lack of quality. The Room cost a reported $6million, largely due to a huge deficit of directorial common sense.

“The Circle” is a highly anticipated adaptation of Dave Eggers’ eerily prescient tech thriller from 2013. Eggers’ novel imagines a near-future in which a tech company encourages people to become “transparent” by wearing a device called Seechange, a portable camera which streams live, personal footage from those who wear it. Another technology, PastPerfect, tracks individuals’ history and activities and directly impacts their professional career.
