INSEAD Alumni Book Club Night, Monday, October 28th 2019
We gladly invite you to attend the INSEAD Alumni Book Club Night at the Nieuwe Poort in Amsterdam on Monday October 28th, 2019.
The distinguished speakers are both INSEAD alumni, being Annet Aris, the author of Wegwijzer in het digitale doolhof, who will discuss digital transformation and disruption, and Kayvan Kian, who will discuss his recently published book What is Water?
Annet (MBA ’86) is the author of a large number of books, articles and case studies on digital transformation. In addition, she is a Senior Affiliate Professor of Strategy at INSEAD, with a focus on digital transformation and disruption and their impact on society, industries and companies. Annet further has extensive experience as a non-executive board member of a variety publicly listed companies across Europe. Currently she serves at the boards of Rabobank Group, Randstad NV, ASML NV, Jungheinrich AG and A.S.R. Netherlands N.V. Annet ranks in the top 10 most influential corporate directors in the Netherlands.
Kayvan (MBA ‘10J) recently published What is Water?, his first book, in which he discusses a world that to many feels increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA). For young people especially, the sense of unease this world creates comes with serious difficulties. In his book, Kayvan shifts the focus away from this overwhelm and toward ways of thinking that will help you grow stronger through it all. During this interactive session, Kayvan will discuss his approach for dealing with our VUCA world that is simple, pragmatic, and easily transferable to teams, families, and communities. Next to an author, Kayvan is also an entrepreneur, teacher, and management consultant at McKinsey & Company in Amsterdam. He is the founder of the Young Leaders Forum, and has given guest lectures at Harvard Business School, HEC, Sciences Po, and other schools.
