Boardroom Creativity: how to design the future of your business

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus famously said that change is the only constant in life. Throughout the centuries, we have adapted to those changes by learning new ways of doing things. To move forward, companies need to be able to both ‘exploit what is’ and ‘explore what is not yet’. However, the balance between ‘exploit’ and ‘explore’ in business is shifting. It’s more important than ever to learn how to apply creativity because of today’s unprecedented speed of change. With the shortening of average business lifespans, leaders need to design their next business more often.

At this book club event, Fennemiek Gommer (INSEAD IDP-C) and Anne Mieke Eggenkamp will talk about their book Boardroom Creativity, which advocates a creative yet practical approach for leaders who want to re-imagine and innovate their business for success. They will introduce their future-readiness framework and discuss how you can be better prepared by identifying the right balance between ‘exploit’ and ‘explore’, regularly designing your next business and board, and building a culture of learning and innovation.
