INSEAD Entrepreneurship Club & Philips Innovation Services   Wednesday, September 12, 2018

Learning from others, the common pitfalls for ventures and entrepreneurs. The INSEAD Entrepreneurship Club is inviting you to an evening by Philips Innovation Services.

Each venture and each new business is unique. However, they share a number of pitfalls. Mistakes and disasters happen time and again and only 1 out of 10 new innovations or start-ups succeed. Jeroen de Kempenaer gives us access to a treasure trove of experience from 25 years of personal venturing and innovation ups and downs, and the hundreds of innovation projects worked on annually by Philips Innovation Services to draw lessons from.

A few of the subjects we will touch upon:

  • The value of market information and the pitfall of over-dependence on that information.
  • Providing a team with the best guidance without messing with the content of an innovation.
  • The cost of slow innovation, postponing decisions and melting away your NPV.

Intended participants are entrepreneurs, innovators and the supervisors or investors. You will get a balance from both perspectives. In preparation you will get a short self-assessment to help you apply the lessons learned to your own situation. You can benchmark your own prowess and further improve your venturing skills.
