Picnic is the world’s fastest growing online supermarket that makes grocery shopping simple, fun, and affordable for everyone. Picnic launched in 2015 after building the platform and service in stealth-mode with 30 engineers. Things came quickly together: 2015 challenger award, 2016 best start-up award, 2017 most innovative company award, 2018 fastest growing company award. Picnic has 800 cars in their fleet, delivering to more than 350,000 customers across 80 cities in The Netherlands and 25 cities in Germany. To make all this happening more than 300 talented people are working on this in our office in Amsterdam and another 3,700 in our fulfilment centers and hubs.
This meet the company will be all about what it takes to manage a start-up, to a scale-up, to beyond. Frederik Nieuwenhuys (MBA 97J), COO and co-founder of Picnic, will take us through the incredible journey of Picnic of the last four years. In the first part of the event he will share the past, present and future of Picnic and its unique position in the business of online supermarkets. In the second part of Frederik’s presentation, he will go deeper into what it means for founders and management to manage a fast-growing scale-up. The last part of the program will be a Q&A session with a panel of young Picnic talents, allowing you to ask any question about being successful at a scale-up.
