Making rational decisions in one-shot encounters – implications for executives
a workshop by Professor Ingemar Dierickx
Amsterdam Tuesday, October 31st, 2023
Negotiations are an integral part of the business world. Often, we find ourselves interacting with counterparts with whom we have no intention or opportunity to continue working together. How do we choose a negotiation strategy in these “one-shot” encounters, and what decisions are rational in this setting?
Ingemar Dierickx, an expert on negotiation analysis with three decades of experience and a highly regarded researcher, teacher, advisor, and trainer, will unpack this topic in an interactive workshop in Amsterdam on October 31st.
Ingemar Dierickx holds a PhD (Business Economics) from Harvard University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar. He also holds law degrees from the Harvard Law School (LL.M.) and the Rijksuniversiteit Gent (Lic.Jur.)
For nearly 25 years, he was a Professor of Negotiation Analysis at INSEAD, where he created an executive program on Negotiation Dynamics and was its Director for fifteen years. Previously, he worked as a Research Associate with Professor Ray Goldberg at the Harvard Business School and with Professor Thomas Schelling, Harvard Economics Department. He is a founding partner of D&AC – Negotiation Advisors and has represented and advised high net worth individuals and corporate clients in a broad spectrum of industries.
