Fábrica About the Future
Inaugurada em 2009, após um investimento superior a 500 milhões de euros, esta fábrica proporcionou a criação de 350 postos de trabalho e significou um marco decisivo no desenvolvimento da The Navigator Company, elevando a sua capacidade anual de produção para 1,6 milhões de toneladas de papel fino não revestido (UWF).
No coração da fábrica “About the Future” está uma das maiores e mais sofisticadas máquinas de papel do mundo, medindo 200 metros de comprimento e com uma largura de folha de 11,1 metros. A sua capacidade de produção anual atinge as 500 mil toneladas de papel fino não revestido, a uma velocidade máxima de 30 metros por segundo.
Adoptando tecnologias inovadoras ao nível dos sistemas e processos de produção, a fábrica foi construída em tempo recorde e respeitando os mais exigentes padrões ambientais legalmente estabelecidos em Portugal e na União Europeia.

About the Future Factory
Inaugurated in 2009, after an investment of more than 500 million euros, this factory provided the creation of 350 jobs and represented a decisive milestone in the development of The Navigator Company, increasing its annual production capacity to 1.6 million tons of uncoated woodfree paper (UWF).
At the heart of the “About the Future” factory is one of the largest and most sophisticated paper machines in the world, measuring 200 meters in length and with a width of 11.1 meters. Its annual production capacity reaches 500 thousand tons of uncoated fine paper, at a maximum speed of 30 meters per second.
Adopting innovative technologies in terms of production systems and processes, the factory was built in record time and respecting the most demanding environmental standards legally established in Portugal and the European Union.
