As the end of the pandemic may be coming into sight, what are the prospects for venture funding? What has changed since the start of the crisis? In this INSEAD alumni panel webinar we will look at how funding markets have reacted and what funding is now available for new vs more established ventures.

We will discuss:

• How investment parameters have altered due to the current economic crisis;
• What new ventures can expect in terms of valuations;
• How different European funding ecosystems work;
• Which verticals are hot and which ones are shut down (for now).

Cristobal Alonso (MBA’00D), is the ultimate “make-it-happen” person, Cristobal Alonso is a serial entrepreneur and the Global CEO of Startup Wise Guys – Europe’s leading B2B accelerator and one of the most active early-stage investment companies in the Nordics and Baltics.

Previously, he was co-founder, chair and CEO of Mobofree, at the time Africa’s leading social Marketplace. He also co-founded a mobile application start-up, mmCHANNEL, as CCO and interim CEO, raising a €2M VC round. He sits on the board of more than 10 startups he has invested in since 2010.

Cristobal is President of NAA Spain and is working on his first book.

Fabio Mondini MBA’99D, IDP-C’17Oct), is the Founder of Cross Border Growth Capital, the leading Fund Raiser in Italy, advising innovative, fast-growing companies on their fund raising and M&A activities. He is also a Venture Partner in Idinvest Partners, the most active VC in Europe >€9B AUM, focusing on VC investments in the Smart City sector (new energy, mobility, smart supply, property tech and industrial tech) and digital.

Fabio has been an active Business Angel since 2012, with a personal portfolio of about 20 startups, and a member of the investment committee of Lazio Innova. Previously, Fabio has been a Senior Advisor in the European Investment Fund (EIF).

Fabio is President of NAA Italy.

Alex Zhigarev (MBA’10D), is a General Partner at Speedinvest where he specialises in finding the best Deeptech projects from all across Europe and FSU states. Previously, Alex was an expert advisor to the European Commission on the allocation of the Horizon 2020 Fund following his role as COO and co-founder of CBOE Vest Technologies – a Y Combinator spinoff acquired by Chicago Board Options. He is an angel investor, a start-up board member and sits on the board of one of the largest online travel agencies in Russia, tutu.ru.
