Head_SocialEvent_ZUCH

Dear INSEAD Alumni,
Join us for a visit to Doppelleu, the quick growing craft beer startup, best known for its Belgian-English-style fermented ales, Doppelleu and Chopfab.

Swiss Craft Beer Experience @ Doppelleu Brewery.

Thursday January 28, 2016 Winterthur, Zurich

Tapping the popularity of craft beer, Doppelleu has acquired 1% of the Swiss beer market, dominated by Feldschlösschen, Carlsberg & co. Within 3 years of founding it is also on track to become profitable, despite investments in its Winterthur brewery expansion. Excellent marketing and leadership are two secrets to its success, not to mention the quality and taste of its hoppy ales and unique spirits. We’ll find out more about Doppelleu’s story from its co-founder at this after work event, which includes a tour and dégustation. Book early as space is limited!

Jan 20 INSEAD Professor Markus Christen // The Solutions Strategy – B2B Marketing, Zurich

Registration is open here for an evening with INSEAD Professor Markus Christen and special guests Jahangir Doongaji, Executive Board Member, Hilti, the Liechtenstein-based group providing system solutions for the professional construction industry, generating CHF 4.5 billion annually, and Bruno Mendler, Chief Strategy Officer of Bühler Group.

Innovating With a Solutions Strategy, January 20, 2016, Zurich

You are invited to a premium knowledge event with INSEAD’s Markus Christen sharing the latest insights on ‘Solutions Strategies’, while INSEAD alumnus Jahangir Doongaji, MBA 96D, and Bruno Mendler, Chief Strategy Office of Bühler Group, will present their experience with its implementation.

A solutions strategy is attractive in fiercely competitive industries. It is preferable to relying only on cost-cutting or only on product differentiation. It is a ‘smart’, partially-customized integration of products & services that solve customer’s most pressing problems (such as productivity or risk management). It’s also hard to do. It takes longer, has more hurdles and involves more pain than expected for most firms, according to Christen’s research on more than 50 businesses in Europe. He counts Hilti and Bühler as success stories.

The speaker program will be followed by Q&A, and a sumptuous Apéro Riche. Don’t miss the first big event of the New Year!

Life Science Executive Careers: The Past is No Indication of the Future (CHIC Conference Report)

DSC_0415

Current INSEAD MBA Candidates visited Zurich to attend the Swiss Healthcare Club’s talent matching conference.

In early September, the INSEAD Healthcare Club of Switzerland hosted a conference with a panel of senior executives, each with unique perspectives on talent matching in the healthcare industry for an audience of INSEAD alumni, guests and current students from Fontainebleau (pictured above).

The discussion revealed that growing complexity and specialization has put a whole new set of demands on candidates ’ profiles and recruiters.

There is indeed a “war for talent ” and this INSEAD alumni conference, moderated by Arul Ramadurai, INSEAD MBA 05J, was successful in communicating the different perspectives and experiences — so that job seekers and recruiters are better able to make the right match.
