Join the INSEAD Alumni Association Switzerland’s Geneva Chapter on an outdoor family excursion to one of the Jura peaks, near Montricher and L’Isle, for a picture perfect view of Lac Leman, followed by lunch at one of the Jura region’s charming Chalet d’Alpage.
It is an easy 90 minute hike from the Col de Mollendruz (1184 m) parking area, to the cross atop Châtel (1432m). Lunch is at the traditional Buvette de Châtel known for its Jura mountain cuisine. (For specialties of the Buvette, see website.) After lunch we follow the same route down. Good shoes are mandatory, as it can get slippery in the woods.
For families with small children not able to climb from Col du Mollendruz, there is an access road to the Buvette de Châtel, approx. 1 km after the pass on the left. “Châtel” is signposted. From the parking area it is a ten minute walk to the Croix de Chatel.
