INSEAD logo guidelines
Masterbrand logo
The logo strapline lockup is our full logo representation. It is to be used in the majority of communications, especially those meant for external audiences who may be unfamiliar with the School.
Always use this lockup as shown. It has been carefully sized and aligned with the INSEAD logo.
Never try to recreate or move the strapline in relation to the logo.
Do not recreate logos and always make sure you use the master artwork files (available on the brand portal).
Logo placement
The general rule is to place the logo in the top left hand corner of a document.
Logo colour variations
The INSEAD logo must always be displayed in either primary green (September green), text on a white roundel, or reversed.
On rare occasions, it may not be possible to use colour. In these instances, use black and white instead (not greyscale).
Do not change the colour of the logo to any other colour.
Do not use the digital logo (gradient colour) for print material.
Roundel logo
For internal communications, it is possible to feature just the INSEAD roundel logo without the strapline.
The same three colour variations apply.
Logo clearspace
When using the logo in any communication, always leave plenty of clearspace between the INSEAD logo and other elements such as other logos, text or images.
As the adjacent diagram indicates, the minimum exclusion zone is equal to the distance between the top of the ‘E’ and the bottom of the Book of Knowledge (i.e. the shape below the INSEAD wordmark).
This rule applies to the full logo strapline lockup and the roundel without the strapline.
Partnerships
When our logo appears in partnership with another organisation/club, the INSEAD logo should be placed in the top left hand corner and the logo of the other organisation/club in the top right hand corner (not directly next to each other).
Visually match the other organisation/club’s logo to a similar size as the INSEAD logo.

Incorrect Usage
The INSEAD logo should not be altered. These logo standards apply for all content that is owned or controlled by INSEAD, including co-branding and partnerships.
Here are some general rules to adhere to when using the INSEAD logo. See below for visualisation.
- Do not change the colour of the logo.
- Do not distort the logo in any way.
- Do not rotate the logo.
- Do not remove any parts of the logo.
- Do not change the font of the logo.
- Never display the logo without the roundel.
- Do not change the shape of the roundel.
- When using the keyline version of the logo, do not change the weight of the line.
- Do not add any words or graphics to the logo.
- Do not change the scale of the INSEAD wording and/or roundel.
- Do not add any effects or drop shadows to the logo.
- Do not place the logo over a colour from the green palette that is within two shades of primary green.
- Do not place the logo over an image with insufficient contrast between the roundel colour and background.
- Do not change the position or appearance of the strapline in any way.
- Do not use the logo vertically.
- Do not overlay any graphical element or any text on top of the roundel logo.
- Do not add borders to the roundel logo.
Colour guidelines
The INSEAD primary colour is September green. This must be used as the primary colour across all applications and communications.

Alongside the primary green, there are also 11 other greens in the secondary palette. Together, these 12 greens represent the months of the year – delineating a journey of transformation and change.
When designing any communications, remember that INSEAD owns green, so this is always the colour that should dominate.
When using the green palette, be mindful of the audience you are communicating with: the darker greens are more suitable for premium and more mature audiences; the lighter tones are more fresh and playful and can be directed at a more youthful audience.
Master Programmes are encouraged to use April green in addition to September green.
Avoid using greens assigned to other audiences (May, July, October).
Typeface guidelines
INSEAD typography serves both a functional and aesthetic purpose. It communicates to multiple audiences effectively, delivering consistent, clear messaging with impact.
Primary fonts
The INSEAD primary fonts are Roboto and Roboto Slab. These are Google Fonts freely available for download from the INSEAD Brand Portal. The recommended applications are:
– Roboto Slab Thin for headings
– Roboto Slab Light for subheading
– Roboto Regular for body text
– Roboto Regular Italics for name of publication
Secondary font (recommended for all student communication)
The INSEAD default font is Arial, which is a universal typeface. In general, Arial is recommended for all student communications.
This is to ensure that collaterals (especially editable documents) will always be compatible and visible on devices that do not have the Roboto font family installed.
Font colours
In general, headers may be in green and inline text should be in black.
Editorial guidelines
Considering the many diverse audiences and potential impact of written communication, we should approach writing at INSEAD with a high degree of thoughtfulness.
Writing at on behalf of the INSEAD institution should reflect the vision and values of the school. The institution was founded to bring people together and strengthen peace and prosperity. Our modern vision of business as a force for good honours these founding principles.
The tone of our copy should be warm and inviting, inclusive and inspirational.
The written communication style should be formal, yet relatable. It should appeal to a wide audience, avoiding long words, technical phrases and complex structures whenever possible.
Thematic elements include communicating our values, being open about our aspirations and goals and showing, rather than telling, how INSEAD leads by example. Writers are encouraged to focus on ‘business as a force for good’ and the founding vision of the school. As a business school, we are about values and value.

Please note, it is mandatory for Clubs and Initiatives logos to feature the mention “A Student Club at INSEAD” or “A Student Initiative at INSEAD” beneath it. Once your logo design is approved please send a request to our departments to align the mention consistently with the other student clubs logos.
Examples:
Brochure guidelines
The recommended size for INSEAD brochures is A5 or A4.
The recommended paper type is FSC or PEFC. When possible choose recycled paper.
The recommended grammage is 250g for the cover and 150g for inside pages.
The front cover content should feature the INSEAD logo (top left), the club logo or name (top right), the title of event, the venue and the date.
The back cover may feature INSEAD campus adresses and website.
The inside pages of the cover should stay blank.
The number of pages should be a multiple of 4, to allow saddle stitch.
If you are using PowerPoint or Word softwares, please include a 5 mm around white margin on cover and inside pages.
If you are using a professionnal design software, you may include 5 mm bleed and crop marks.

Rollup banner guidelines
The standard size of roll-up banners is 85 x 200 cm (Europe Campus) or 80 x 200 cm (Asia and Middle East Campus).
Below layouts are examples of INSEAD banner design templates which can be adapted to the needs and/or branding of your events.
The INSEAD Communications department can help you with the creation of a banner for your event. To facilitate this process, please use PowerPoint to create a draft containing the details and any logo/preferred image to be included. The standard size for posters is A3, A2 or A1. There are two templates available: portrait or landscape.
You may use the templates provided below and, if need be, adapt the layout to the needs and/or branding of your events, in compliance with the INSEAD brand guidelines as listed above.

This is the standard PowerPoint template for INSEAD Student Club presentations.
If your club already has INSEAD in its name and logo, the INSEAD roundel logo does not need to be featured on every slide/in the slide master.
