THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT – WE CANNOT ACCEPT ATTENDEES AT THE DOOR

This event is sponsored by Farfetch and Felix Capital

Amazon’s recent acquisition of Whole Foods may be the strongest indicator that bricks and mortar retail, which still accounts for around 90% of global retails sales, is far from dead. Farfetch, having started life as an online-only luxury fashion marketplace is investing heavily in the Store of the Future via its acquisition of Browns Fashion and by building an online retail platform. What will it take to survive and meet the expectations of today’s shopper?

Join Andrew Robb (MBA 07J), COO at Farfetch and Frederic Court, founder of Felix Capital and the first investor at Farfetch, as they discuss trends in retail and the roles of technology, creativity and new business models.

Frederic Court is Founder and Managing Partner at Felix Capital, a London-based venture capital firm operating at the intersection of technology and creativity. Felix’s first and second funds closed oversubscribed at $120m and $150m respectively, with a strategy to invest in digital lifestyle, backing new digital brands and related enabling technologies. The investment strategy is in line with Frederic’s track-record in these markets with investments such as Farfetch, Zong (mobile payments, sold to eBay for $240m), Vitrue (social media marketing SaaS, acquired by Oracle for $310m), Dailymotion (online video platform, now part of Vivendi), or Olapic (SaaS for the CMO, sold to Monotype for $130m, just 13 months after Felix’s investment).

Andrew Robb (MBA 07J) is Chief Operating Officer at Farfetch and as an executive board member he is responsible for the smooth running of the marketing, operations, international and VIP teams. An online specialist with over 20 years’ experience in e-commerce businesses, he started his career with Gemini Consulting before joining Peoplesound.com a digital music start-up. Andrew then worked in the category development team of eBay Australia before spending several years as Managing Director of Cocosa.com.
