Corporate governance in private equity-backed companies
Thursday 30 November
This event is sponsored by Debevoise & Plimpton
Earlier this year, Simon Witney (MBA 95J) completed a PhD in the Law Department at London School of Economics, looking at the corporate governance arrangements in 50 private equity-backed UK companies. In this presentation, Simon will explain his theory of private equity corporate governance, how private equity investors add value though their corporate governance mechanisms, and the lessons for those sitting on the boards of investee companies.
Simon is a Special Counsel at Debevoise & Plimpton where he is a member of the Private Equity, Funds/Investment Management and Business Integrity Groups. Private Equity International has named him one of the 30 most influential lawyers in global private equity.
