Jean-Marc Huët (MBA 98D) brings a winning combination of financial expertise and corporate experience to the latest event in our Doriot Distinguished Speaker Series. His career so far ranges from working at a start-up through finance to the board of HM Treasury’s Financial Management Review and he will share how his time at INSEAD sparked his shift from a career in banking to the top level of the wider corporate world, latterly as Chief Financial Officer of Unilever, where he was an Executive Director from 2010 to 2015. In this period, Jean-Marc was instrumental in transforming the company’s portfolio and performance, overseeing significant improvements in growth, margin and free cash flow.
Jean-Marc’s experience of producing 50 consecutive quarters of results in 13 years as a chief financial officer, combined with his enduring interest in organisational development, human behaviour, relationships and governance, have taken him into the very different sectors of nutrition, fast-moving consumer goods and pharmaceuticals. He is also a non-executive director on the boards of Heineken, Formula One and SHV.
Prior to joining Unilever, he was Chief Financial Officer at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Royal Numico N.V. and a non-executive director of Mead Johnson Nutrition in 2009. Before joining Numico, Jean-Marc worked at Goldman Sachs for 10 years.
Jean-Marc will draw on his considerable experience at board level in three countries to talk about the common thread of turnaround and transformation which provides his motivation. When he’s not working, his passions are tennis, ski-ing and travel.
