Healthtech is experiencing an unprecedented period of innovation and growth which is in turn driving exceptional opportunities for commercial and social impact. At the same time, there is an inertia within the large and complex, payer-provider system in the UK that can deter and frustrate the entrepreneurial drive in the sector. What are some of the lessons that we can learn from those who have been able to address these challenges to enable successful innovation? How do they think about the role of technology in delivering clinical excellence? What would be their advice for current and aspiring entrepreneurs who are looking to navigate the system? Our panel members are accomplished clinicians, innovators, entrepreneurs and investors who can share unique, holistic perspectives on the topic.

Our panel includes:

Nadine Hachach Haram is the CEO of Proximie and Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Director of Clinical Innovation and Strategic Partnerships at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. She is also Co-Managing Partner of KHP Ventures that offers equity investments with healthcare expertise for ground-breaking medtech and digital startups.

Owase Jeelani (MBA 02D) is a renowned paediatric neurosurgeon, inventor, entrepreneur and philanthropist, who has written over 200 articles and regularly featured in various programs on BBC, CNN, FT, New York Times, Al Jazeera and TED. Owase set up Klay Biotech, a digital platform for making surgery safer, more patient-centric. He also set up Gemini Untwined, a global charity focused on improving outcomes for craniopagus twins
