INSEAD Supper Club
Tuesday 12 November
Our autumn Supper Club is hosted by Priyanka Raj Prakash (MBA 14J Partner), professionally trained cook and food blogger. The 18-person dinner in the heart of Notting Hill, will present modern interpretations of heart-warming Indian and Middle-Eastern classics – allowing alumni to try new flavours and mix between promotions in an intimate environment.
In the crowded, bustling streets and by-lanes of India, you’ll often see people clustering around roadside carts, jostling with others to try to get a plate of whatever the vendor happens to be selling. Chaat, as we know it, is more than just a term for a small sharing plate of food. It’s a cultural nuance that generations of Indians have grown up on – small portions of food, bursting with incredible colour and flavour – spicy and sour and salty and sweet, red and green and yellow and white, crunchy and soft, hot and cold. There are no rules when it comes to chaat! These talented vendors come to “their spot” each day, at a certain time, and make just one or two things – mouth-watering, fresh, “tapas” if you will.
In 2013, after seven years of consulting and non-profit roles across the world, Priyanka decided to move from the dining rooms of restaurants into the steamy kitchens – rooms where the real magic happens. Apart from working at Paris’s best crêpe stall, Chez Alain Miam Miam, she also learnt through short courses at Le Cordon Bleu, La Cuisine Paris in Paris and in the kitchens of Michelin-star restaurants Pied-a-Terre, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons and Quilon in the UK.
Please note that bookings and refund requests close on 5 November.
