The Travel and Tourism industry represents 10% of global GDP and one in four of new jobs in the coming decade, yet comparatively little emphasis has been placed on the sector by most business schools. The sector is facing major challenges with demographic shifts, changes in consumer behaviours and recovering from the effects of Covid.

Sacha Alexander Zackariya (MBA 00J), CEO and co-founder of ChangeGroup helped build the world’s third largest currency exchange and ATM company over three decades. As a result, he has access to information on international consumer trends that are rarely published. He is author of the highly acclaimed Leading Travel and Tourism Retail – How businesses can capture new sustainable profits in shopping tourism, published by Kogan Page in April 2023 with 40 interviews from leaders across the sector.

Sacha holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, a post grad diploma in financial economics and an MBA form INSEAD. He was appointed Chairman of YPO Greater London in 2020 (part of an organisation representing 30,000 CEOs globally). In 2006 he received the Queen’s Award for Export at Buckingham Palace. In July 2022, Prosegur Cash, listed on the Madrid stock exchange, acquired a controlling stake in the business.

Sacha will be talking to Paul Skipworth (MBA 95J), Co-founder of Inverleith LLP, which invests into consumer brand businesses that operate within the high-growth categories of health and wellness, lifestyle, premium food and drink and luxury / heritage brands, in companies headquartered in the UK and Europe.
