First Time Funds, Let’s Make It Happen!
Thursday 29 November
This event is sponsored by Debevoise & Plimpton
Launching a new venture is always difficult. Launching a fund, even for an established manager, is very challenging. Combining the two is not for the faint-hearted. We ask successful first time funds how they mastered the challenge.
Jean-Marc Jabre (MBA 03J) co-founded, capital D, a pan-European PE fund manager focused on investing in companies which show clear evidence of transforming legacy business models or have demonstrable potential to do so. The senior team combines skills in private equity, corporate and digital transformation, innovation and entrepreneurship with a distinctive approach. Jean-Marc started his investing career at Morgan Stanley Venture Partners. His final role for the organisation was at Morgan Stanley Private Equity in Europe, a $1.5bn fund focused on growth and buyout investing.
Geoffrey Kittredge is a Partner at Debevoise & Plimpton where he is a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. His practice is focused on private equity and investment fund formation. Labelled a “private equity ace” by Legal Week, he is recommended as a Market Leader for Private Equity Funds by IFLR1000 (2018). Geoff received his BA in 1984 from the University of Virginia, his MBA in 1992 from Columbia University in Finance and Business Economics and his JD in 1996 from New York University, where he was an Editor of the Law Review.
Stefan Kowski (Harvard MBA) is a Founding Partner at Novalpina Capital, an independent European Investment Firm with €1.0 bn capital under management.
