Jim Strang (AMP 17Jul), is currently a Senior Advisor to Hamilton Lane, having been until the beginning of 2021 the Chairman of their EMEA business and a long-standing member of a number of the firm’s investment committees. Jim will review the trends, challenges and opportunities found in today’s global financial and private equity markets.

Jim is an experienced private markets investment professional and strategy consultant with a wide range of Board and C-level experience gained across multiple organisations over the last 25 years, notably with Hamilton Lane, the largest third-party allocator of private capital globally, and Bain & Co, the global market leader advising the private equity industry. Jim is a non-executive director and Chairman of the Board at Hg Capital Trust plc, a non-executive director of the British Growth Fund, a Senior Advisor to the private equity group at Bain & Co and a teaching Fellow at London Business School.

Jim has a Finance PhD and is an INSEAD alumnus. He entered the private equity investment industry 17 years ago having previously worked as a Strategy Consultant for Bain and Company.
