The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board’s Andrea Orlandi will explain the investment strategy of CPPIB, one of the world’s largest international investors in alternatives.  CPPIB has built a global property portfolio in excess of C$30bn (more than £15bn) over the last decade, with assets across the Americas, Europe and Asia.  CPPIB has developed a model of joint venture investments along with established local partners.  In the last few years, CPPIB has also expanded its investment strategy in acquiring equity interests in public and private real estate companies.  Andrea will tell us more about the strategic choices that led to this model of investment and will give us his views on trends in real estate institutional investment.

Andrea Orlandi (MBA 98J) Managing Director, Head of Real Estate Investments Europe, joined CPPIB‘s London office in 2011 and has been responsible for real estate investments across Europe and in India. He has more than 15 years’ experience in real estate investment, holding senior positions at real estate private equity and investment firms.  Prior to joining CPPIB, Andrea was European Chief Investment Officer and Director of AREA Property Partners.
