The Next Big Industry Being Disrupted by Technology
Wednesday 10 October
This event is sponsored by IQVIA
The healthcare industry is the latest sector to be entering the digital era: genomic mapping, preventative medicine and holistic patient-centric solutions are realities changing the healthcare ecosystem. Technology companies are now offering innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes.
Disruption is under way and technology plays a key role in the future of healthcare. However, many questions remain: Will tech companies compete to replace traditional biopharma? Could technology be the solution to biopharma’s problems such as low returns on R&D? How will highly-regulated healthcare structures cope and change?
Our discussions will cover these and other questions and our panel includes:
Dr Guy Wood-Gush (MBA 90J), co-founder and CEO of Deontics, a company developing world-leading artificial intelligence-based clinical decision support systems. He was a neuro-surgeon and ophthalmic surgeon before moving into healthcare investment banking and entrepreneurship. He was Executive Chairman of Cambridge Cognition, a neuroscience digital health company.
Judith Reece, VP of Digital Development at GSK, having previously led the development of GSK’s R&D digital data strategy. Before that she was part of the team at AstraZeneca responsible for business strategy, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and investments.
Moderator: Helen Stewart (MBA 12D), is an Associate Principal in Consulting Services at IQVIA.
