Balance in Business Event Series: Who leads? Who (still) cares? Part 2: The Board Perspective
Thursday 11 March, 18:00 – 19:30

Join us for the second event in the three part series. In this session, we will continue to explore why Balance in Business matters, how to implement it and recognise the value it creates for the organisation. Join our expert panel, learn from their experiences, and continue the discussion on how boards can ensure that balance in business is at the heart of a company’s strategy.

Our panellists:

Beatrice Hamza Bassey: Experienced board member; Chair of Union Bank Nigeria; General Counsel and Board Member Atlas Amara.

Byron Loflin: Global Head of Board Engagement, Nasdaq Governance Solutions & Nasdaq Center for Board Excellence.

Helen Pitcher OBE: Experienced Chairman, Board member, Board facilitator and Coach. Helen will moderate our Board panel.

Stanislav Shekshnia: Senior Affiliate Professor of Entrepreneurship at INSEAD, co-director of Leading from the Chair, Scandinavian Executive Institute Executive Board development programmes. Prof. Stanislav will share some hard facts and data.

This interactive event will build on the first Balance in Business session where CEOs discussed why gender balance matters, how to implement it and recognise the value it creates for the whole organisation and the communities they serve.

This time the panellists will discuss the following questions from the Board perspective:

Why care? Does everyone accept the ‘why’? Or are most in the camp of ’why but’ not my problem, no availability of talent, not my sector… What is going on? What are Boards doing to encourage, accelerate, support and oversee balance in business?

How to Balance? How should Boards best partner with the CEO/leadership teams to deliver meaningful change? How can boards ensure that balance in business is at the heart of a company’s strategy? How can they make an impact on the recruitment of talent?
When will we go beyond the talking?

This is an open event for all INSEAD alumni and their guests, as well as alumni from other business schools. Our goal is to inspire current and future leaders to engage and offer their perspectives, learn and share experiences, and generate practical insights to solve gender balancing issues.
