Wine Tasting with Ákos Forczek, Founder & CEO of Top Selection Wines
Friday 26 February 19:00

Join us for a virtual wine tasting. In the true spirit of INSEAD, this wine tasting will challenge you, while still keeping you close to your comfort zone, but above all it is aimed to delight you. These wines represent what INSEAD stands for: multiculturalism.

You will receive a case of seven 10cl bottles, comprising of three white, three red and one sweet wine. Tickets include online tasting, wines, VAT and delivery to your home address. (UK shipping only).

The wines
Lequin Colin Santenay Les Hates 2018 – An up and coming appellation from a young star winemaker in Burgundy. It puts most Chassagne Montrachets to shame.

Chateau de Fosse Seche « Arcane » 2018 – For me the best Chenin Blanc winemaker of the Loire Valley, by a mile. The first winemaker to reject its Saumur appellation to become “Vin de France”, the lowest wine appellation of France. Why? Join us and find out.

Kanta Riesling 2105 – made by the undisputed King of German Riesling, but in Adelaide Hills in Australia.

Nathan Kendall Pinot Noir 2016, Finger Lakes New York – a young perfectionist winemaker, who makes one of the most delicious Pinot Noirs I have ever tried.

Chateau Trianon, St Emilion Grand Cru 2011 – Made by my friend Dominique Hebrard, whom I first met in 1993 when he was the owner and winemaker of the legendary Chateau Cheval Blanc. His talent elevates this wine above its appellation and hope to be elevated to the St Emilion Grand Cru Classe level in 2022.

Boroli Barolo 2015 – The Boroli family is a very old Piedmontese family who also own the oldest Monopole of Barolo, Brunella (first mentioned by the monks in 1666). Their 2015 Estate Barolo (part of the wines comes from the Brunella single vineyard) is the living proof that young Barolo can be great, smooth and enjoyable.

Szepsy Szamorodni 2013 – From the King of Tokaj, that is all you need to know for now. Plus because I am Hungarian…

Your host
Ákos Forczek (MBA 97J) is Founder and Chairman of Top Selection Wines and 9elmswines. He is the only ex-INSEADer who has a wine merchant business in the UK, founding Top Selection in 2000 and growing it ever-since. In 2018 and 2019, the UK sommeliers gave Top Selection UK Fine Wine Merchant of the Year award, in recognition of the highest concentration of quality wines they have ever seen in any wine portfolio in the UK, an accolade never before given to the same business two years in a row.

Prior to INSEAD Akos worked for LVHM at Hennessy Cognac and Moet & Chandon Champagne, developing their Eastern European distribution after the fall of the Soviet Union. He was one of the very rare students who didn’t come from banking or consulting prior to studying at INSEAD.

We hope that you will join the evening with your household. Each 10cl bottle will be enough for two small tasting glasses.

Bookings and cancellations must be made by midnight on Thursday 18 February – email [email protected] for details
