Newspaper headlines are galore with the imminent threat of fundamentally changing the nature of work, businesses, and industries with GenAI. Business executives’ reactions to this trend range from denial (‘does not apply to my industry/market’) to incongruous (‘sounds too alien to be real’), to helplessness (‘I cannot make sense out of it’) or to euphoria (‘we will change the world with this technology’). In our observation, such reactions may be stemming from confusion created by thinking of this technology using a broad stroke of “smart automation” rather than having a nuanced view of the contextually relevant attributes of GenAI that make it more effective in some settings over others.

This session will expose you to some evidence-based research that will be used to build a framework on how and when GenAI can play an instrumental role in shaping the future of work, business, and industries. While such a framework is still a work-in-progress, it will provide you with some guidelines that can be valuable as you consider GenAI’s implications for your business.
