INSEAD’s mission is to develop responsible leaders who transform business and society. This is of course a life long journey. In the Responsible and Sustainable Leadership Mentor Program we delivered last year, 30 alumni in the Netherlands worked on their own responsible leadership in a professionally facilitated and peer-based learning set up.

Amazon Country Manager NL Roeland Donker participated in the program. Together with Roeland we’d like to invite you to an event where we reflect on Roeland’s personal and professional sustainable leadership journey – in his role at Amazon.

For this collaborative session, we asked Roeland to present a leadership challenge he faces.

The session will provide an opportunity for alumni to practice a core leadership skill, Powerful Questioning, which will help deepen their understanding of Roeland’s experience. The session will also provide Roeland with an opportunity to reflect on his leadership and allow him to share insights on the assumptions and beliefs which inform his actions and decisions.

Roeland Donker is Country Manager Netherlands for Amazon. He joined Amazon in 2012, and launched Amazon.nl in 2020. His team is focusing day-to-day on improving selection, pricing and convenience on behalf of Dutch customers. After studying Dutch Civil Law, Tax Law and Tax Economics in Groningen, Roeland started his career as banking lawyer and subsequently intellectual property lawyer at Allen & Overy in Amsterdam. He decided to change his career to business by getting his MBA at INSEAD.
