Invitation INSEAD Healthcare & Life Sciences event
‘The making of the Amsterdam UMC’
with prof. dr. Chris Polman, CEO Amsterdam UMC
Wednesday 20 April 2022 at 18:30 CEST
Kindly hosted by Giotto in the Nieuwe Poort in Amsterdam
In 2018 one of the most groundbreaking mergers in the Dutch health care took place when VUmc and AMC joined forces and became Amsterdam UMC. With the aim to improve complex patient care, speed up scientific research, educate and train the next generation of health care professionals and advance population health care in the Amsterdam region.
Four years later, how is the state of the Amsterdam UMC? Is the organization on track meeting its ambitions or struggling over its integration with a cultural battle going on? Which integration models where used and what merits did they show? Which unexpected pitfalls occurred and what went surprisingly smooth? What leadership style turned out most effective?
Chris Polman, Amsterdam UMC’s CEO, will share his experiences leading this post-merger integration and is happy to take questions from the INSEAD alumni. The session will be held in English.
