In business and life, we continuously try to influence others’ thinking and decisions to achieve the outcomes we desire, whether in sales, negotiations, or collaborations. Simultaneously, others are also doing the same to us. In this interactive session, Dr Soyer will distil research and applications to identify and discuss different ways of persuading others, ranging from quick-and-manipulative to slower-yet-motivating. He’ll also consider methods on how we could defend ourselves better from outside influencers, when needed.

Dr Emre Soyer PhD is a behavioural scientist and an adjunct professor at INSEAD’s Decision Science Department. He has provided talks, workshops and/or projects on Strategic Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Negotiations to a wide range of organizations. He’s the co-author of The Myth of Experience: Why we learn the wrong lessons and ways to correct them.
