Entrepreneurs’ Dinner
Tuesday 4 October, 19:00 for 19:30 – 22:00

Join us to hear from Michael Kent and Ricky Knox, Co-founders of Azimo following their recent multi-million dollar exit from the fintech money transfer company. Acquired by Papaya earlier this year, Azimo has regulatory approval to operate in more than 160 countries and includes instant payroll payment and other remittance services.

Michael and Ricky are successful serial entrepreneurs and investors, both together and separately. This should be a fascinating evening at a Michelin Guide Portuguese restaurant so do book soon to be sure of a place.

Michael Kent (MBA 03D) is a serial fintech entrepreneur and early-stage investor as both an angel (more than 50 investments) and venture partner at global VC firm Headline ($2.5bn AUM). He co-founded Small World Financial Services (payments buy and build – exited to Equistone in 2018), Azimo (digital payments software – exited to Papaya Global in 2022) and Tandem Bank (UK consumer lending focused neo bank – now majority owned by QIA). Before becoming an entrepreneur he held corporate development roles at News Corporation and WPP, having started his career in consulting with Accenture and Arthur D Little.

Ricky Knox (MBA 03D) is Chairman of ForMore, an ethical wealth management platform. Ricky is the Co-founder of Tandem Bank (and CEO from inception to July 2021), an app-based bank that aims to revolutionise banking to save people and planet by helping the UK reach Net Zero 2050 by leveraging customers savings to help customers to finance environmental improvements to their home, transport and lives.  Previously, Ricky has helped to create a series of technology disruptors in fintech and telecoms. He co-founded GSM Systems to recycle mobile networks into the developing world; is a Co-founder of Small World Financial Services Group, a global money transfer business with over £5bn of transfers and one of the world’s largest international money transfer operators. In 2012, he co-founded Azimo.
