Lunar New Year Dinner, 15 Day Celebration

Join us for a relaxed Lunar New Year Dinner to welcome the Year of the Rabbit. Lillian Luk (MBA 01J) Founder and Chef, Shanghai Supper Club, has generously offered to host a supper club evening. The 10-course menu will include some New Year specials such as spring rolls, eight treasure duck and eight treasure rice. Lillian will also explain some of the traditions of the festival which lead to a lucky year ahead.

One Chinese legend is that of Nian, a hideous beast believed to feast on human flesh on New Year’s Day. Because Nian feared the colour red, loud noises and fire, red paper decorations were pasted to doors, lanterns were burned all night, and firecrackers were lit to frighten the beast away.

Please wear a flash of red to keep Nian away.
