Retail & Consumer Group:
Outlook for 2021 with Richard Lim, CEO, Retail Economics
Wednesday 10 February, 12:30 – 13:30 GMT

The retail sector was going through seismic change even before the pandemic hit. Now, as the sector emerges from the all-important seasonal year end, in a continued battle with Covid-19, the new year continues to reveal the winners and losers, highlighting those who have been able to accelerate their shift to a new era versus those who have been less able to adapt.

Throughout 2021 as industry restructuring unfolds and consumer behaviour trends cement or slip away, there will be many opportunities for retailers, but also many pitfalls. In this session, Richard Lim will explore the key trends and opportunities for the year ahead.

Richard Lim is Chief Executive of Retail Economics — an independent economics research consultancy focused on the consumer and UK retail industry. He is a regular commentator on retail performance across all major news channels.

Richard Lim previously headed up the ‘Retail Insight and Analytics’ team at the British Retail Consortium; before that, he worked in mergers and acquisitions for Citi. He has a wealth of experience in data analytics, consumer research and macroeconomics. Richard was also recognised by LinkedIn as a Top 20 UK voice to follow in 2020.

With retail facing critical change, this is going to be an interesting webinar for anyone connected to the wider retail sector.

Moderator: Teresa White (MBA 88D)
