The Power of Moving On
Thursday 22 January, 18:30 – 19:30 online
Western culture generally assumes that we’re separate from each other and from the world around us. This assumption has permeated economics, finance, psychology, marketing etc. As a result, most of us rely on our minds to achieve our goals. The more people and resources we deal with, the more stressful our lives become. This can damage both our health and our relationships. The solution is to move on from the mind to the intelligence that’s running the cosmos, including our bodies and everything around us. We can see it in the way that wounds heal – and the way things falls into place when we let go. The new book from John Purkiss, The Power of Moving On, will be published on Tuesday 13 January.
When we realise we are the cosmic intelligence, our desires become reality much more easily. John will show you specific techniques to do this.
John Purkiss (MBA 87J) studied economics at Cambridge and worked in banking and management consultancy. He completed his MBA at INSEAD, where he won the Henry Ford II Prize. Within a few months he was diagnosed with clinical depression. During his search for a solution, John learned mindfulness and Transcendental Meditation. As a principal and then a partner at Heidrick & Struggles, he recruited CEOs, CFOs and board members. Since 2014 he’s explored the Vedic tradition in depth. John’s last book, The Power of Letting Go, has sold over 250,000 copies in English, with translations so far in Arabic, Hindi and Spanish.
