For alumni looking to make a difference during these trying times: Project Green for Impact is bringing together the global INSEAD community to fight the COVID-19 crisis. To support those most affected here in Singapore, we will be highlighting impactful local initiatives: It’s Raining Raincoats and SUN-DAC.
We’ve already started supporting by donating clothes and healthy snacks to migrant workers hosted at the temporary medical facility in a call by physician Dr Estelle Tan. Thank You to the Alumni community that already supported for last week’s donation drive with clothes and snacks!

It’s Raining Raincoats
Foreign Workers Need Our Help! If you are wondering how to help those most impacted by Covid 19 in Singapore, consider donating to ItsRainingRaincoats (IRR).
Founded in 2015 by Dipa Swaminathan, a Haravard educated lawyer, is also the spouse of an INSEAD alum, the organization received the President’s Award for Volunteerism and Philanthropy in 2017 for their commitment to improving the lives of migrant workers, and several other awards and recognition since then. They are also featured quite regularly in the media for the unique, authentic and imaginative initiatives they float to bridge the gap between migrant workers and Singaporeans. From distributing raincoats, food, phone cards, Deepavali treats and Xmas gifts to hosting nationwide potlucks to advocating for the ethical rights of these workers, IRR has made its mark in Singapore, bringing to focus the plight of this “invisible” community.
Now, even more so, they need your help. IRR is collecting food and essential items for distribution to the foreign workers in isolation/quarantine. Most needed products are snacks (chips, cookies, nuts, candy bars etc), personal hygiene items (soaps, toothpaste, toothbrush), and hand wash/sanitizers.

The 30 Seconds Challenge – Overcoming COVID-19 and YES to Social Inclusion

Helping others is happiness, even in difficult times. Physically apart, but still socially inclusive.
This year SUN-DAC marks 30 years of community care service for persons with disabilities and their caregivers. In this current challenging COVID-19 situation, we wish to encourage Singapore and communities that together we can overcome COVID-19, and we also want to encourage Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and vulnerable groups, to do the same! The 30 seconds challenge may be simple, but it may not be so for our vulnerable groups.
Take part and spread hope and encourage others! COVID-19 can’t stop us.
- Step 1 – Take a pic or video of yourself doing a 30 seconds activity, eg. yoga pose, jumping jacks, running on the spot, steps machine etc. Say/ type “Together we can overcome COVID-19!” and any other encouraging message at the end. Be creative!
- Step 2 – Copy this message. Post message with your pic or video on social media, tag 5 friends to do the same 30 seconds challenge and post on their social media. I nominate (name1), (name2), (name3), (name4), (name5) to do this challenge, and/or make a donation.
- Step 3 – Help us serve and support persons with disabilities and caregivers. Say YES to Social Inclusion! Together we can overcome COVID-19!
