To Overcome Your Insecurity, Recognise Where It Really Comes From

INSEAD Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour Gianpiero Petriglieri and his co-author write that insecurity is neither a flaw nor a drive. It is a byproduct of a workplace culture in which individualism is rampant, relationships are instrumental, and bias goes unquestioned. To accept and overcome insecurity, we rather need to stop caring too much about each other and start to care more for each other, andfor the place we work in. HBR

Reprinted from INSEAD Knowledge
Gianpiero Petriglieri, INSEAD Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour, and Jennifer Petriglieri, INSEAD Assistant Professor of Organisational Behaviour, find that contrary to what many believe, today’s “rootless” career men and women crave something to hold onto. Companies with programmes geared towards helping people craft such an identity (“portable self”) are likely to reap financial and cultural advantages. Forbes India

INSEAD Adjunct Professor Mark Lee Hunter has spent a decade researching the emergence of NGOs and other“stakeholder-driven media” with INSEAD Professor of Technology and Operations Management Luk N Van Wassenhove and Professor Maria Besiou at the INSEAD Social Innovation Center. This is a trend that predated the eruption of fake news, and it is not going to end soon. It can be considered a competitive threat, or a collaborative opportunity. lobal Investigative Journalism network
